Quattroporte Beats M5

Maserati's 4.2 liter V8 Quattroporte is faster than BMWs 5.0 liter V10 M5. The Quattroporte is quicker around a track than BMWs best sports sedan. Britain's evo magazine proved this conclusively on its Bedford Autodrome test circuit, which the Quattroporte lapped in considerably less time, being far the fastest four door, and the fastest real four seat car yet tested. The Quattroporte's advantage is most devastating in the corners, where it bested the M5, and a number of current Porsches, Mercedes', Bentleys and others, by a wide margin. This is, of course, the mark of accessible speed and real world performance; evo noted that the Quattroporte is in a completely superior class for luxury, as well.*

The British love its speed and elegance. The Swiss, enamored by precision engineering and great design, have voted the Maserati Quattroporte best luxury car for the second year in a row: the Swiss also know great performance cars. Topping the Auto Illustrierte (Motor Presse AG) poll for a second consecutive year, the Quattroporte had almost 10% more votes than its closest rival. The Audi A8, revised BMW 7-series, new Mercedes S-Class, Rolls-Royce Phantom, Maybach and Jaguar XJ were far behind in the tally, and the Bentley Flying Spur was soundly beaten in a contest judged by perhaps the world's most exacting and quality-conscious car buyers.**

American buyers evidently agree as Maserati Quattroporte sales were up 260% in January 2006 over January 2005, outselling the BMW 760i, 760Li and Mercedes S55, S600 and S65 combined!

In summing up the Quattroporte's appeal, Auto Illustrierte wrote "The completely emotional Maserati Quattroporte is the outstanding winner of the category with a brilliant vote result" that put all its competitors "equally in the background". Step into the forefront at your authorized Maserati dealer: test drive a Quattroporte today.
